Interview with a Cannibal

The site was a cannibal forum. Armin Meiwes, an ordinary-looking man and good citizen, found a home in the dark chat rooms of the Internet, discovering others who shared his same cannibalistic curiosity. There he ultimately connected with his willing victim, Bernd Brandes, whom he butchered, cooked and ate with a glass of good red wine, thus fulfilling a lifelong desire to have another human being become part of him forever. Interviewing Meiwes in 30 sessions at a high-security prison, journalist and filmmaker Günter Stampf probes into Meiwes' life—from his isolated, lonely childhood to the homoerotic fantasies of his adulthood—and talks with family, friends and experts as he searches for clues to answer one simple question: Why?
